Checking News configuration
in Outlook Express
The following
illustrations are intended as a step-by-step guide to checking your own
News settings in MS Outlook Express for the Melb PC Internet
Service.
| Step
1.
Open Outlook Express, and
select Tools and select Accounts from the dropdown
menu. |

2. Select the
News tab and highlight the news account to be checked.
Click on Properties to open the pages listing the news
settings applicable for Melb PC. |

| Step 3.
The settings shown on the following four pictures are as required
for Melb PC Internet Service. Only the Name of the
subscriber, E-mail address, and Username should
differ.The most common error is confusion in the correct use of
E-mail address and Account name (ie Username)

4. Before finishing there is the
opportunity to change selections to meet your individual
preferences.
Return to Tools and from the dropdown menu select
Options. |

5. Go to the Connection tab
and ensure both boxes under Dial-up are left unchecked. This
will eliminate most problems that can be associated with Diallers.
It is possible to personalise your mailer program in a number or
ways by modifying settings in the other tabs shown in the background
of this image. Any of these changes should not affect the successful
sending and receiving of e-mail. |
