Saving your Password

There are some very good reasons for not saving you password in your dialler configuration, however if you are dialling frequently and you are satisfied about the security of your PC, saving passwords can be a benefit. However occasionally the Save Password box is sometimes greyed out and is not available.

1.  Shut down Windows 95/98 in the normal way by selecting the last (fourth) option Close all programs and log on as a different user.

2.  When the login screen appears during the reboot, enter your Internet username only (in lower case) and leave the password blank.

3.  At the next screen confirm there is no password by selecting OK

4.  Start the dialler and ensure a tick is on the Save Password box, then once making a successful Internet connection your password will then be remembered.

If you find in Step 1 that there is no fourth option you must install Client for Microsoft Networks. Use Control Panel | Network | Add | Client | Microsoft | Client for MS Networks
