An Australian edition of Using Quicken has been published by QUE; written by Stephen O'Brien, a well known author of computer texts, this title covers Version 7 for Windows. The back cover carries an endorsement by Viv Martin (I know I've seen his name somewhere before): "This excellent book supplies a need for the Australian user. Suits beginners, advanced and trainers alike. This is the friend you can call out-of-hours". It is good to see a well-known software package supported with documentation that is specific to local users. Stephen O'Brien has done a really good job; his book is comprehensive, practical, and directly relevant to Australian readers. The design is pleasing; wide margins are used to effect for side notes and leave plenty of room for reader annotation. There are good screen shots that support the step-by-step descriptions of various processes. Quicken beginners should have no trouble in getting up and running, and experienced users will find the kind of information they are looking for. This book is good reason for using Quicken; regardless of the nature of a
small business (or even personal financial management), the solutions are to be found here in lucid,
no-nonsense language.
