Two More Years To Plan
We are staying at South Melbourne for the next 2 years. As most members are aware, we have been looking
for new premises that will provide better parking during both day and evening and more room for meetings.
We set ourselves a high standard to give members the best facilities that we could afford. Unfortunately
we did not find a suitable building in time so we renewed the lease for another two years.
Free E-Mail Account
Just a reminder that all Melb PC ordinary members can now have an e-mail account with an 8 MB mailbox,
access to newsgroups, and very limited Internet access as part of their normal $55 membership. Naturally
a Full Internet Subscriber is also entitled to the second e-mail address for Family members, and is able
to access both accounts through the one dial-up number. Just fill in the application form and mail it
in to the office.
E-Mail While Travelling
To make it easier for members to collect e-mail while travelling, the Web based mail reader is now available
as a link from our external home page at http://www.melbpc.org.au/.
This page can be accessed from any Internet Caf‚ or other location anywhere on the Internet.
Do You Have any LPs?
A new training course, Vinyl to CD, commences in August. Students will learn how to record their old vinyl
albums and cassette tapes onto CD. The course will cover recording vinyl and tape to digital audio as well
as post-recording editing, such as clipping, normalization and channel editing. Students will also be shown
how to record their new audio files onto CD.
Relocation Of the Digital Imaging and Music SIGs
Both groups have been meeting on the second Thursday evening of each month. The music SIG has met in the
main SIG room ever since we moved to Dorcas Street, and the Digital Imaging SIG has been meeting upstairs
in the small SIG room. In recent times the Digital Imaging SIG has grown in popularity and often overflows
from the small room. A swap has been agreed. David King
theking@melbpc.org.au and the office staff will help with
enquiries.

Members, please note. The three month trial at Monash is finished and the meeting start time (at

This Monthly Meeting will be at the Pharmacy College in Parkville.
Have you been to a monthly meeting yet? You don't know what you're missing. There's information and fun,
