Considering the size of the Melbourne PC User Group membership it is rather
disappointing that there were only 489 total votes cast, including a small
number of invalid votes.
I believe the Group is able to do much better and encourage a greater proportion
of our membership to vote than about 4.9% of members who voted this year. As I
indicated in my report last year I am strongly of the view that to ensure
continuing good governance of Melb PC, future elections for committee should be
conducted by postal ballot and I strongly recommend that this method should be
introduced for the 2004 elections.
