Another title under Wiley's Visual imprint, Master Visually Microsoft Office
2003, shows users with some Office experience how to use Word, Excel, Access,
PowerPoint, Outlook, and Publisher.
The format of books in the series is to present a specific topic in a two-page
spread using annotated screen shots with a minimum of text that includes clear,
step-by-step instructions. It works well; apart from making the book an
excellent introduction for beginners, it is also a good look-up reference for
the experienced user who needs a quick how-to solution. Anyone working on a help
desk should find it invaluable for directing a client either over the phone or
by email.
The book is not intended to make readers experts, but it is remarkably
comprehensive and covers everything an ordinary user needs to know, even down to
"how to print an envelope". There is no discussion of concepts or technical
issues; the content is restricted to straight how-to instruction.
If you are not looking for a how-it-works text, but need a reference that
confines itself to step 1, step 2, ... , this is what you need.
