Once again it was fabulous to catch up with so many at the meeting last
month; sadly I couldn't talk to everyone, but please rest assured I will be
trying to get to as many meetings as I can in the future.
This month PC Update contains all of your usual favourites, and it's
gratifying to see that the space allocated to SIG reports is getting bigger and
bigger as more and more information is sent to us. In addition to the Club
information, this edition also sees Adam Turner explain 'cloud' computing and
Google Docs in particular, Anthony Caruana, a self confessed Eee addict, plays
with the latest 900 series, and Adam again pops up with a piece on Microsoft
Home Server.
Add to this a tutorial from me on using tab stops in word processing packages,
our regular Yewell's Jewels. Graeme Hague's column, photo tips from Helen
Bradley and Steve Polak's games and we have another well rounded edition.
One new addition this month is a small humour piece also from Graeme, and we're
hoping that this will set a precedent for Melb PC members to share their own
experiences - humorous or otherwise - in the wonderful world of computing and
its peripheries. Simply email them to me at the below email address in either
Word
or TXT format, but please NO formatting, fancy fonts, bold, italics, extra line
spacing - in short, plain old text. Around 500 words is good, but don't let size
stop you.
As always, let me know what you think, any ideas, suggestions, requests for help
or indeed brickbats or bouquets by emailing me at
editor@melbpc.org.au
Happy computing!
