The overwhelming response to our buying service, preparation for our trip to Comdex and the details in the Annual report, leave me little time or topics to discuss here. Buying Service This service continues to grow, this month we have added more systems and software. However, please do not compare our cheap prices to those of retailers with stocked showrooms and knowledgeable support staff. We are not able to to provide that degree of service at the prices quoted. December AGM By now you should have received the official notice of AGM, together with a nomination form and a copy of last year's minutes. This was mailed separately to arrive in time to comply with our Rules of Incorporation. Another copy of the notice and nomination form is included in this issue of PC Update, just in case you accidentally consigned the earlier one to the round filing cabinet). If you feel that you could devote a few hours each month to helping guide this group towards the next century - join us on the committee, pick an area of our activities you would like to develop and make your mark on the largest PC User Group in the southern hemisphere) This Month's Meeting We continue to be well supported by major software vendors. This month we are privileged to have a presentation of Word Perfect for Windows, by Helen Jenkins. Helen is a long-time Melb PC member, well known to word processing enthusiasts. We arc fortunate to be able to have this demonstration ahead of the official release. We also have a presentation by Louis Tie, from IBM. Louis will present OS/2 version 2, due for release possibly late this year or in the first quarter of 1992. OS/2 is a topic few of us know much about, but is a product whose impact will affect many of us over the next few years. I eagerly look forward to seeing you and hope you can attend this educational and entertaining evening with our group.
