Last month I rambled on about our philosophy of Users Helping Users. This month I've been involved with User Groups helping User Groups. I recently had a meeting with Wayne Waterson, SIG co-ordinator with the Sydney PC Users Group. Wayne told me of the problems their Group had in the past, but with these now behind them, they are concentrating on building membership numbers and are keen to swap ideas with us. It's always interesting to hear how other User Groups handle their marketing, and our meeting was a fruitful one for both of us. Anything which helps to build closer liaisons with other User Groups can only benefit all of us. Sydney PC Users Group have a new Web site http://www.sydneypc.com Dorcas Street facilities Members visiting our office often comment that it's a shame our building, although bustling at night, is under-utilised during the day. Nothing could be further from the truth! Our excellent training facilities--a fully equipped room with 12 PCs--and the SIG room are available for hire during business hours at highly competitive prices. Next time you or your organisation needs to hire either a training or meeting room, why not give Tracy Swan a call on 9699 6222 and arrange to inspect the facilities. SIG leaders' meeting All SIG leaders were invited to a special meeting in late February which was a huge success. Chaired by Dave Botherway, the meeting covered numerous subjects from publicity for SIGs to first aid. A great many good suggestions were made and tossed around and with Dave at the helm, we can be sure they'll be followed up. BBS As I write this, our bulletin board is temporarily off the air following an equipment failure. Major changes are on the way for the BBS, which will benefit all members. Committee meeting At the March Committee meeting, several pertinent issues were raised and discussed:
