Who are we ?

Interested in all things tech? We're one of Australia's largest and most active technology club, a community of enthusiasts with a shared passion for computing and related technology.

We started as a group focused on IBM-compatible PCs, but our interests have expanded far beyond that. Today, we're a non-profit, volunteer-based club dedicated to helping our members learn, create, and share their knowledge. We believe in advancing tech education for everyone, from absolute beginners to seasoned experts.

Our two divisions, the Melbourne PC User Group and the Melbourne Creators Collective, offer a home for every kind of tech enthusiast. Whether you're a coder, a gamer, a digital artist, or just curious about what's next, you'll find a welcoming community here.

Join us to get hands-on with the latest tech, bring your creative projects to life, and be part of a community that's passionate about the practical and responsible use of technology for personal enjoyment and social good.
Join our monthly meetings featuring engaging presentations from guest speakers on a wide range of tech topics. It's a great opportunity to connect with fellow members and learn about the latest trends.

Can't make it in person? Our online meetings bring the conversation to you. We dive into hands-on projects and specific devices, from Raspberry Pi and Arduino to Home Assistant, CNC routers, and 3D printing. These are a perfect way to share your projects, troubleshoot challenges, and get inspiration from others.

The Melbourne PC User Group was founded in 1984 to help IT enthusiasts learn more about the latest computing technology and it has the same ethos today with “Members helping Members”.

The Melbourne Creators Collective was set up by the Melbourne PC User Group in 2018 as a division of the Group to encourage activities helping young enthusiasts - anyone is young if they say so - to discover and understand todays' electronics and technology.

The Melbourne Creators Collective concentrates on "hands on" activities, predominantly held at our Moorabbin Clubrooms. The Melbourne PC User Group provides a network for members to meet at convenient locations all over Melbourne and online to swap ideas and knowledge of current computer related technology.

We are one organisation and are inclusive to everyone, each division is different only by the types of activities it emphasises. Many activities attract members from both divisions.
