7:00 pm ... Guest Presentation: Warren Burt Via Zoom

Presenter Topic: 58 Years of Musical Electronics

Warren Burt is a composer, performer, video artist, sound poet, writer, and instrument maker working across hardware and software, electronic and acoustic mediums. Born in Baltimore in 1949, Warren has lived in the US and Australia, and now resides in Ararat, Victoria. He holds degrees from SUNY Albany, UC San Diego, and a PhD from the University of Wollongong. Over a career spanning more than five decades, Warren has built a wide-ranging practice in algorithmic and electronic music, sound installation, video synthesis, and sound poetry, performing and exhibiting across Australia, the US, and Europe. He has held academic posts at institutions including ANU, the University of Wollongong, and Box Hill Institute, alongside residencies at Mills College, The Djerassi Foundation, and STEIM Amsterdam. Also a prolific writer, Warren has contributed decades of articles to Soundbytes Music Magazine and published books on experimental music. His work has been recognized with multiple Australia Council Composers' Fellowships and continues to be presented internationally.

We are going to have an extended interval with drinks and nibbles and an opportunity to have a bit of a chat and generally socialise. We will provide light nibbles, tea, coffee and soft drinks. Feel free to BYO beer or vino.

WAFFLE,a relaxed social get together in the Borrett Room. A Coconut House restaurant order will be placed at the break for delivery to the club by 9PM.
