Detecting a water leak

Do your kids make a splash while having their bath?

Member Joey G has a solution after his young ones helped him realise he needed to apply his ingenuity and problem solving skills.

The solution had to be simple and easily implemented. Joey used a very simple circuit with a 2N7000 mosfet and a couple of basic components assembled on a prototype board and powered from a 6V battery.

Here is the circuit Joey used

And here is the video clip of it in action:

but knowing Joey he won’t stop there.  Perhaps the next stage is to incorporate a Bluetooth sender so he can get a notification on his phone.

If you are interested in projects like this or a little more ambitious, maybe based on an Arduino or an ESP32 microcontroller, you could join us on our Saturday morning Microcontroller Workshop zoom call

https://us06web.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZElcu6srTIjGdW5PjB-ct1DyUrIefmoYdLq

or in person at our clubrooms in Moorabbin.

See the Event-Calendar for the next meeting details. Bring you project or ideas along and have some fun.
