Monday 20th September at 9.30 AM to 12 Noon General Meeting & Q&A
Monday 20th September at 1.30 PM to 4.30 PM Family History
Life has gone on since our Zoom meeting that was held on Monday, 16th August and not much has changed. So, the meeting to be held at 9:30am on Monday, 20th September will be another 100% Zoom meeting. Our equipment, most of which has now become redundant, is still at the Information Centre and we are making plans to acquire a new laptop, which will become our principal item of equipment and much more portable than the old desktop computer. The projector has become unnecessary now that we are using a wall-mounted flat screen.
In regard to zoom, it is advisable that you keep your computer updated with the latest version of zoom. I have just updated to version 5.7.8 (1247)

This meeting which will go from 9:30 to 12noon, will take our usual format and, as ever, we will commence with a Q&A session. It would be nice if we could have some questions prior to the meeting, so that the answers can be researched before the meeting.
We will conclude the first session with two more of John Thompson’s, always interesting, “Thommo’s Tips”. The first will be about the Victorian Government Services App, with a review of recent updates. The second will be about “HotSpotting” from your smartphone and the details of how you can do it.
After the break, when you make yourself a cup of coffee, we will have a forum on the alternatives that are available, to enable you to avoid using the Microsoft Office suite of programmes. Some of our members are keen users of these alternatives. Fred Rowney and John Thompson will talk about these programmes. If you use any of these programmes please do a little homework prior to the meeting, so that you can make a contribution.
There will be a Family History Zoom meeting from 1pm to 4pm. Those of you who are registered for this meeting will receive an e-mail with details of this meeting.
