MelbPC and Linux Users Vic had a chat

A few of us from MelbPC User Group had a casual chat with three of the L.U.V. office bearers Alexar, Sophie and Les. We heard about the wonderful work they are doing with Linux Install Fests and with the folks at ComputerBank. It was interesting to hear how they are trying to do similar things to our objectives here at the club with reaching out to potential new members and testing what the community appetite is for technology and people getting together face-to-face to discuss things of common interest.
There’s definitely some synergies there for both groups with collaboration and sharing of resources such as L.U.V possibly using our club facilities for events. We may also be able to hear more on these things if Alexar is able to join us in a Monthly Meeting in the next few months.
There is great potential for us to explore and share further ideas.
