DOTW Winners August 2021

DOTW is a lighthearted look at some of the sillier events of the week. Don’t take it too seriously and do pop over to Chit Chat and vote each week. Thanks to those of our members who occasionally ‘feature’ for taking the gentle humour in such good part.

August winners were:

• Former urban infrastructure minister Alan Tudge for his (halting) statement that the all sites chosen for the $660 million National Commuter Car Park Fund were based on need. The Australian National Audit Office found that site selection was actually based on a ‘top 20 marginals’ list – the existence of which Tudge denied

• Prime Minister Scott Morrison who has again refused to commit to a target of net zero emissions by 2050, after an international “code red” warning on climate change was issued by global leaders.

• Those involved in an illegal church gathering where NSW Police issued $35,000 in COVID-19 fines after around 60 people were on Sunday sprung gathering at a Western Sydney church, where the pastor declared “the lockdown is over”.
