DOTW Winners September 2021

Roger Brown

DOTW is a lighthearted look at some of the sillier events of the week. Don’t take it too seriously and do pop over to Chit Chat and vote each week. Thanks to those of our members who occasionally ‘feature’ for taking the gentle humour in such good part.

September winners were:

• The hundreds of Victorian ambulance paramedics who have declined to be vaccinated for COVID-19, and their union which is prevaricating on the issue of whether these workers should be made to undergo vaccination as a condition of continued employment.

• Worshippers at a Ripponlea synagogue who gathered to mark Jewish New Year in breach of health orders and then attempted to evade apprehension by police by climbing the synagogue roof to escape.

• Federal Environment Minister Sussan Ley who has approved the extension of a north-west NSW coal mine, despite it being the subject of an unresolved legal challenge by a group of teenagers claiming breach of duty of care.

• The Anti-vax protesters who have forced the closure of two crucial vaccine hubs in central Melbourne, after reportedly spitting on and abusing staff.
