What’s New
Q & A

Next event: Monday 11th February

Our Meetings start at 7:30 p.m. and we normally have a “What’s New” section where we show any new hardware or software releases for that month followed by a “Question and Answer” session where you can ask for advice on any problems that you might be experiencing with your Video Production.

After the Q&A Session we have a main topic which will cover some aspect of Video Production – from Video Equipment selection, the Art of Video, Video Editing and Video Production and Distribution.

For this Month’s topic we will be looking at the ways of improving old Video footage taken on a 8 mm , Hi8 or DV camera in the original 4×3 format and upscaling and sharpening that to produce an acceptable (in our opinion at least) 16 x 9 version to be viewed on a modern TV Screen.

Roger Wragg will be showing us various ways in which he improves his old video footage using Sony Vegas and even re-filming his footage, then Barry Sheedy will be showing us how he uses Adobe Premiere to improve his videos and after the Coffee Break I will be demonstrating some COMPLETELY FREE SOFTWARE to do the same on my movies.

FREE SOFTWARE

The demo of the FREE SOFTWARE will be after the Coffee Break and we would encourage people to stay and mingle with other folks and chat about what you would like to learn from our new Group over the coming year. Please feel free to talk to any one of us with your ideas.

Also after the Coffee Break there will be an opportunity for you to show your own footage on the big screen Projector at Moorabbin.

(Please bring your footage on a USB Memory stick so that we can load it on to our PC for Projection).

Our Meetings usually end around 9:30 p.m.

If you would like to attend one of our Meetings (see “getting to our clubrooms” )
